Kevin has a lengthy career as a music teacher, voice teacher, arranger, editor, conductor and singer.
While finishing his conducting degree from the University of the Philippines, Kevin was regularly performing with the Ateneo Chamber Singers, the Villancico Vocal Ensemble and was music director of the Basilica of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Mt Carmel in Quezon City. After two years of private vocal lessons with Mr. Christopher Arceo, he applied for the Queensland Conservatorium and was accepted into the Master of Music Studies Program where he studied Opera with Dr. Margaret Schindler and graduated in 2024.
Apart from regularly singing for the St. Stephen's Cathedral Choir and Schola, as well as being the current Vocal Specialist of the cathedral, Kevin has also sung with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Opera Queensland, Voxalis Opera, Springboard Opera, Brisbane Chamber Choir, St. John’s Cathedral Choir and the Queensland University Musical Society. He was featured as a student soloist with Opera Queensland and with conductor Richard Mills for their performance of Rossini’s Stabat Mater in the 2024 Brisbane Bel Canto Festival. Notable roles include Count Almaviva (Il Barbieri di Seviglia, scenes), Sam (Susannah, scenes), Fenton (Falstaff, scenes), Heurtebise (Orpheé, scenes) and Canio (Pagliacchi, scenes), Rodolfo (La Boheme, scenes) and has covered the role of Acis in Springboard Opera’s production of Handel’s Acis and Galatea.
He has performed the tenor solos of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s “Hiawata’s Wedding Feast” with the Queensland Univérsity Musical Society and the Ariel Ramirez’s “Missa Criolla” with the Blackstone Ipswich Cambrian Choir. He was also Featured as the opening concert performer, alongside Music Director Christopher Trikilis in the 2024 St. Stephen's Cathedral Advent Concert Series.
